Stand

Opinion: A personal assumption of the way a person perceives the reality of a situation, person, or topic. Not always but often times can be based off a stereo typed conclusion influenced by appearance, first impression, religion, sexuality, wealth, ect. A noun held in such high regard it has the ability to persuade the human mind into believing its factual even if it’s unsupported by actual fact and confronted by truth. It has the ability to destroy years of built up dreams, character, integrity, confidence and hope in only a matter of seconds of being uttered. Its presence can linger for many years without being noticed and is also capable of resurfacing without warning.

But when surrendered to the right foundation it can be a wonderful building block in person’s life.

Opinions are given with a choice.

1. To take it into consideration, separating truth from fact.
or

2. To take as full truth.

I have a teachable spirit and take everything into consideration

But

If it doesn’t line up with a firm foundation, the word of God in my case, I won’t allow myself to take it to heart. Not to say I don’t get discouraged from time to time by my plentiful critics. Cause I do. I’m human and far from perfect. But I’m striving to be something more than average. Which, isn’t the easiest thing to do in a world controlled by the media and over rated, highly valued opinions that are distorted by lust, greed, and the illusion of happiness. But I’m tired of the world telling me who I am.

[I’m sure I’m not alone]

So, I’ll stand.

Note to self:

Don’t let the world’s opinion stop you from being who you’re called to be. Even if you feel like everyone is against you. Stand. Cause sometimes that’s all you need to do to make a difference.

“…Let God be true, and every man a liar”-Romans 3:4

“…a person with a changed heart seeks praise from God, not from people.”-Romans 2:29

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

(Ephesians 6:12-13)

You're right.

I'm sometimes seen as something I might not be, but it's nice to prove people wrong, they had the wrong impression of me and I'm more than what they thought I was. :)

It's nice to be able to change people's opinion on a person.

So many pain-full opinions in the world - sprung from brokenness and evil. But I love those days when the Kingdom Life is as natural as breathing, when the weight is absent and the Risen Lord is present. Those are the days when I really do stand - for selfless stubborn reconciling love in an angry welt of a world. Hoping to have a few more of those days each year. I don't know you Meghan, but I'm glad I stumbled across your blog. I hope your life is grace-full and abundant, and spent in the center of the Father's love.

Remember that since Christ is in your heart, nothing can defeat you. Defeat is not possible, only victory. That's something He has been teaching me lately, and it's such a comfort to finally let go and let Him take care of everything, you know?

God appreciates a good struggle. Keep fighting! God never gives us more than what we can bear.

Your note to self is gonna become my note also. I tend to let the worlds opinion stop me at times from becoming what I am called to be. But then i think back to this saying, Faith is no irresponsible shot in the dark. It is a responsible trust in God, who knows the desires of your hearts, the dreams you are given, and the goals you have set. He will guide your paths right. So without hesitation, I shall not let the worlds opinions get in the way of that path that God is guiding me on.

These critics you speak of are the same critics ALL Christian people have to stand up against. I remember when I first started being open about my faith, a lot of my "friends" turned against me. They attacked me unprovoked. The Word is a powerful message, and it's convicting. It makes those who don't want to believe feel powerless (because they are), and their arrogance can't comprehend that. You must always stand firm and show these people love, even when they don't show it to you. Nobody can ever call you out on that. You'll find over time that these people will have less and less influence in your life. Eventually you'll come to pity them, rather than be hurt by them.

"Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be hated" - 2 Timothy 3:12

Stand strong...we're with you.

Thanks for the amazing quote to use on my facebook page!
I wish I could write deeply.
But unfortunately I am as shallow as a tide pool. At least I know I am.
