At times I get discouraged with the "place" the world puts me. I don't claim to be anything more than human. I just strive to be more Christ like in all I do.
This doesn’t mean I’m perfect, that I’ve never doubted, or never sinned. It doesn’t mean I’ve lived a sheltered life of forced religion taught by my parents.
It doesn’t mean I’ll judge others who have chosen to live a different life style or are a different religion then me.
It means, to me, that I’ve made a choice.
To focus on what God wants for me.
To live a life full of purpose according to his will.
To love people, instead of worrying about where they're at in life.
To be honest and sincere in my actions.
To live a life above reproach and questioning.
To set aside my wants and desires for his glory.
To do what is right, not because I feel I have to but because I have an understanding that I’m worth more than the pressures and standards of mans opinion of me.
To be a living sacrifice.
The "box" and its four small walls, built out of pre conceived thoughts, enclosed with the bondage of stereo typical allegations justified by previous acquaintances claiming to be the same but acted in a hypocritical manner.
This box.
Cannot contain me.

mmm I like it.
It's deep and not too deep at the same time.
you could be a good writer
woot breaking out of the box is awesome thing to do, and i agree with the 2 previous comments
I like this post, it's positive.
I'm envious of your sincerity of conviction. While I lean towards believing in a higher power, I still have many conflicting thoughts about what traditional Christianity teaches.
Something that stood out in your post was "to focus on what God wants for me... to be a living sacrifice". From what I understand of God (which is little) he surely would not wish you to have to sacrifice your will for His. Just as two human parents give birth to a child, raise it, and love it unconditionally - being proud no matter which path they choose; wouldn't God too have the same wish for his children? He gave us free will; and to live your entire life continually deferring to an assumption of his plan for you in any decision making is ultimately, I would think, a recipe for regret later in life.
God created us exactly as we are - all the complexity and beauty of our bodies and spirit, and all the imperfections and insanities as well. Our talents and passions, and our insecurities and flaws. Exactly as we are, He knows us.
If I were the Father of such a miracle, I would be proud no matter which path their hearts lead them to.
So long as you are lead by your heart, I truly hope you do not feel restricted or confined by a need some people develop to continually reassess your goals with an assumption of His, because the truth is, even if you believe in fate none of us know what His plans for us are.
These posts are self discovery for you - good luck.
Well said as always.
Thank you. This is beautiful. :]
You are definitely a great writer.
i really enjoy your youtube videos! it aligns with many of the things i believe in. i'm subscribed to you on there! i blog myself on my free time. feel free to check out my thoughts! (=
Thank your for sharing this, meghan. That box can't contain me either. To live our lives for Jesus Christ every day, to be a living sacrifice, to follow Him even those times we doubt or want to walk a different way, to be willing to sacrifice those things that we like but in reality just separates us from God, to open up for His love, to be willing to live a life for His glory, to seek His will - that is the best thing any human can do. We are created to be His, to worship Him with our lives, and He is the only one who can fill our void and who can satisfy us. Everything else are just broken wells that'll make us thirsty again.
Thank your for not being ashamed of telling the world who you belong to. May God bless you and keep you.
"And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God" (Phil. 1:9-11)
Beautifully profound.
thank you so much for this. it is very freeing!

Awesomely deep and reflective. Everyone really needs to stop letting the box contain us at sometime. Well done :)
That last paragraph was just lovely.
Such profound words,
you could have a future in writing.
I want to be as certain as you. I need to find god again. I suppose I shall go to some sort of church function. right now even. bye :)
My daughter sent me a link to your YouTube Vid about this poem.
All I can say is WOW. It's profound, and filled with wisdom.
I hate being pigeonholed and the label 'Christian' comes with a lot of preconceived notions.
You've inspired my daughter, which I thank you for – and now you've inspired me. I'm going to feature this in a blog post, because it's important, it's significant, and many others will agree.
God bless you abundantly, Meghan! And thank you for these wise words.
I've been reading your blogs and i can honestly say that i feel as if i know you on a personal level. You are so open with your spirituality and with who you are and want to be. You're such an inspiration to me. Hopefully I'll get to meet you one day. I would really like to have a simple conversation with someone who is so spirited. Reading some of your blogs has put some thoughts into my head, making me want to become more Christ-like in all that i do. I hope you understand what a blessing it is to read your blogs and watch your videos on youtube. Also, Ustream, what a marvelous idea. What a great way to spread the love of Christ. Thank you so much.
I really like this.
:)
thanks - this helped while i was struggling.
it's so easy to forget what jesus should be in our lives, this reminded me.

Beauitfully said.
You challenge me.
I love your "box" video on youtube, your words are so deep annd full of meaning
In Hosea it says: For I desire mercy, not sacrifice (Hosea 6:6)
Then Jesus quotes it twice in Matthew:
But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' (Matthew 9:13)
If you had known what these words mean, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the innocent. (Matthew 12:7)
Brennan Manning talks about this concept, as well, in his book "Abba's Child, The Cry of the Heart for Intimate Belonging."
Beautifully profound.
